About the Project

The Farmer Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Farmer name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Farmer name.

As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Farmer's), by time period (18th Century Farmer's), or by topic (Farmer DNA, Farmer Occupations, Farmer Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

Also see the related surnames and surname variants.

Hello, I see there is no project coordinator but also realized a dire need to do some research and share solid sources for the Farmer surname. Much of the information I am finding both here and other family tree sites is incorrect, unsourced, or just jumbled together. Myself have discovered some useful facts that can distinguish different Farmer families that seem to be getting confused in the Tarrant County Texas area. My great Grandmother is a Farmer and I would love to work through all the jumbled mess and discover some truth's for the Farmer lineage not only for myself but for others researching the Farmer surname. I see there are many wikitree active users researching this name, I would love it if we could coordinate our efforts and begin sorting through some of the sources so our Wikitree is as accurate as possible. I will post this comment on the G2G feed tagging the Farmer name in hopes some others would like to jump in and help with the name study. Have a Great Day!

Perhaps I should ask to join the group as my main study is in the farmer group and my sire name is "Farmer" Our name goes way back to England and I think to Germany, but am not sure as I have not got that far back. I'm still in England. Thanks

I just opened the one name study for Farmer and there is nothing on it. How do you add the names to it?
