History/Timeline

Fleming County was formed in 1798 from part of county. It was named for John Fleming.

Government Offices

The first courthouse was a log structure erected after 1798.
The second courthouse was a two story structure built by Samuel Stockwell in 1828 to 1830. An addition was built in 1869.
The third and present courthouse was constructed in 1952 to 1953.
The County Judicial Center was constructed in 2009 to 2011 at a cost of $13,500,000.

Fleming County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. Its county seat is Flemingsburg.
