History
The first recorded burial at the Fort Saskatchewan Cemetery is that of Miranda Wright who died at the age of 48 in 1889.[1]
The Fort Saskatchewan Cemetery is comprised of 9 different sections. The Old Section is closest to the entrance. The New Section is toward the rear of the cemetery, on the north side. Family 1, Family 2, and Family 3 are in the middle of the Old Section. The Legion - Field of Honour, the RCMP Section and the Columbarium are also in the middle of the Old Section. And the Infant Section is on the southwest corner of the property. There is a map by the entrance, and the rows are clearly marked.
This cemetery is maintained by the City of Fort Saskatchewan's Public Works Department and the grass is regularly mowed. (Note: The Fort Saskatchewan Gaol Cemetery is located elsewhere, at 53.70372, -113.22824, on the walking trail behind the Bridgeview neighborhood[2].)

Notable Monuments
A small Columbarium was erected in 1985 to mark the site of the original North West Mounted Police plot of 1895.[3]
Asa Robert Rogers[4] and Glen Halvor Adams[5] are remembered on a shared memorial. The two boys were killed in 1926 when a truck lost control on the bridge and struck them. [6][7][8][9]
Notable Interments
Several of Fort Saskatchewan's former politicians[10][11] and prominent citizens are interred here, including:
Dr. Peter Alyen - Member of NWMP, medical doctor, and Mayor from 1909-1911.[12]
William Henry White - Western pioneer, and Mayor 1929-1930.[13]
Charles F. Lowe - Mayor 1950-1954 and 1956-1960. [14]
Charles Richard William “Dick” Mager - Mayor 1943-1949. [15] Dick Mager Park was named after him.[16]
Dr. George Harrison Turner - One of Alberta's first "horse-and-buggy doctors", the first official doctor for the early NWMP detachment, and the original doctor at the provincial jail. Dr. Turner Lodge, an assisted-living facility in Fort Saskatchewan built in 1978, was named after him.[17]
(Fort Saskatchewan's first mayor, William Ford Langworthy, is interred in Burnaby, BC[18].)
