Wahoo! |
Lyrae:Every Thursday after High School/Activities I would stop by Great Grandpa Oscar Bryant's and take him to get a Root Beer Frosty.
We would then go back to his house and if it was early enough we would watch Flintstones (one of his favorites) and play a game(s) of Wahoo.
He was around 88 and was very spry and loved to talk to me.
Normally he was a very gracious host and was a joy to be with. However, the game of Wahoo brought out a different side than I usually saw.
It was not a bad side...just amusing because there was a very competitive side in him...his eyes would twinkle as he bumped me back to my starting point! : )
He made several of these boards over the years. They were beautifully crafted and stained a golden oak color.
I have since purchased one from a crafter on Etsy and am looking forward to teaching this game to any of my "wee ones" that want to take me on! ; )

Cattails
We used to bring these home from the lake and when we went camping. I loved the "velvety" feel of them!
Sometimes we would break them open like this in this video...
