The Hosfords were originally from Thetford, Orange, Vermont, and moved to Ohio in 1833 prior to making the move to Illinois. John came firts in 1837 and then moved is family t Illinois in the spring of 1838 where they settled on section 23, but in 1875 moved to Ottawa. A list of children and their spouses is as follows:
