This page seeks to gather all One Name Studies that are of German origin and hope to help others researching in this area find their relevant ONS faster, and to maintain the studies/identify those that are considered active versus those that are not, or never started. Some names may overlap or cross into other modern countries such as Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, Denmark, Austria, and Poland, depending on proximity and historical distribution.

A category once existed, titled Category:German Name Studies, but this has since been discontinued. As of this writing, 12 Jan 2024, there are a total of 3,431 subcategories within Category:One Name Studies, and 1936 pages attached to the category directly. Everything there is displayed alphabetically.

This page would also sort alphabetically, but would also seek to include basic location data and spelling variations. Numbers for category usage is approximate. A date is included with each status update.

For the immediate future, this list will not be in table format. That may need to wait until after a site redesign, scheduled for the beginning of this year (2024).
