Is this Gill name study still active? If so I would like to join. My mother's maiden name is Gill. Through my research on ancestry, I have been able to determine that I connect to a Guille (Huguenot) family. I have a tree on Ancestry as well and have been DNA tested.

I'm working on the family of James Alford (aka Alfred) Gill, Gill-356 (born 1860 in Virginia, living with wife Ella A Thomas in Eel River Township Indiana in 1900. Looks like they were married in Indiana in August 1883. Does that qualify as an "oldest surname" for Indiana?

If "Goldie" is really the poor boy's given name, then it might qualify for your list, too!

Looking to connect my Paternal line of GILL. There could be various spellings to the name.

My father did his DNA through FTM-DNA before he passed his Hologroup is M-269 My Brother's also did his through FTM-DNA is M-269 but after doing some SNP's it change to a line of M-269 resulting in the Change to R-L21, Presently waiting on results of the Big Y to see where this leads. I have done the FTM-DNA and also 23 & Me and Ancestry, even though I am Female the Autosumal did infact prove my relationship with my brother, since my Dad died was unable to do the Family finder, but Brother and Dad do show up to 67 markers that there is a "0" Genetic distance to each other. Hoping to find others that are related through the Surname Gill
