Graham Family Mysteries-1

My Grandfather William Haines Graham was born in August 1878, supposedly in Fall River, MA. There is no record of him there, or any family with his alleged parents William N Graham and Susannah Haines. A William H Graham turns up in Providence, RI around 1900 to enlist in the Army. He gives a Mrs. Charles Adams (Sarah Ann Holland) as a Providence point of contact, and states that she is his aunt. Another enlistment gives her daughter Florence as a point of contact. The Adams family is from England, specifically Dukinfield, Cheshire, (Ashton under Lyne district). I have an old photo with a young man around the turn of the century, taken in Ashton under lyne.. Legend had it that my grandfather was sent overseas when his parents died. To make it very interesting, William matches no Grahams for DNA, but does match Rushings, Wests, Huffs, etc, My FF matches, along with my cousin and aunt, shows concentrations of Adams, Hamilton, Jones, West, and Stewart. I come from a long line of undistinguished and unskilled individuals, But would welcome any light on this family.
