Great Burdon Mill
The Mill
Great Burdon Mill is a Grade II listed building, deemed to be "of special interest".
The mill sits on the banks of the River Skerne as it enters Great Burdon, before flowing through Haughton le Skerne and Darlington and joining the River Tees. It was built in the late-18th or early-19th centtury as a water-powered corn-grinding mill, but was later converted to be run by a stationary engine. The machinery was built by Hauxwells of Durham and is dated 1863.
