The goals of the HILDEBRANDT AND HILDEBRAND NAME STUDY project are:

1. To find every non-living person with the Hildebrandt and Hildebrand surname who lived in Alsace, France. and make a wikitree profile for them.
2. To make a family tree including all Hildebrandt and Hildebrand who ever lived in Alsace, France, and connect that tree to the Global family tree on Wikitree.
3. To find the origins of the Hildebrandt and Hildebrand families to any earlier Hildebrandt and Hildebrand where ever they may have lived in Europe,
4. To determine the origin of the name Hildebrandt and Hildebrand
5. To determine exactly when and why the Hildebrandt came to Alsace, France.

Right now this project just has one member, me. I am Sharon Troy Centanne. This is my ancestor's maiden name , so I am especially interested in Hildebrandt and Hildebrand Family research! I am concentrating on the Hildebrandt and Hildebrand family from Muttersholtz and Baldenheim and surrounding villages in Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France going back into the 1500s and 1600s.

Here are some of the tasks that I think need to be done. I'll be working on them, and could use your help.

• Add Hildebrandt and Hildebrand Family members from research on familysearch.org and findagrave.com.

• Add Hildebrandt and Hildebrand Family members from the church and cemetery records of Alsace, especially the Protestante church of Muttersholtz and Baldenheim,

1. Post images of the online records for the family written in Old German Script, and offer translations as best we can figure out from the old handwriting.
