Hallett Cemetery, Barrier Highway, Hallett, South Australia is located 193 km North of Adelaide, just outside the northern side of the town of Hallett. It is situated in a very dry area of South Australia and is indicative of the arid landscape to be seen in Northern South Australia. The environment is dry and facilities for establishing lawns and lush surroundings are not available or possible. This adds to the historical story which surrounds the residents of Hallett Cemetery. They lived in a dry, harsh and, at times, unfriendly environment, but it was home.

A number of "strangers" to the district have been buried here but have no headstone to remember them by so they are remembered by a plaque at the entrance to the cemetery.
