Hannah J., daughter of William H. and Christianna Dirrim, born in Wayne county, Ohio, Aug. 16, 1840, and departed this life, Nov. 14, 1912, aged 72 years, 2 months and 18 days.
At the age of 4 years she came with her parents to the old homestead two miles southeast of Hamilton. Here she grew to womanhood and united with the M.E. Church at the age of 16. During 28 years in Ohio, 1872-1900, a member of the United Brethren in Christ.
In the spring of 1860 she was united in marriage to Isaac Firestone, who later became a veteran of the Civil War. They began housekeeping on a farm in Franklin township, DeKalb county, Ind. In the spring of 1872 the moved to a farm in Northwest Ohio from whence they moved to Hamilton in the spring of 1900 and there continued to reside until her demise.
To this union were born eight (?) children: Anna Stickney, Motpelier (sic), Ohio; Dora Headly, Edon, Ohio; William S. Firestone, Dalhart, Texas; George S. Firestone, Mongomery, Mich.; Timothy D. Firestone, Hannibal, Mo.; Mary Swinehart and Cora Mocherman, of Hamilton, Ind.
She is survived by her father, William H. Dirrim, three brothers: Robert R.; William S. and Timothy H. and by three sisters; Mary E. Goudy, Crissy Dirrim and Caroline Hammond; and by twenty-seven grandchildren and by two great-grandchildren.
She was a loving wife, a good neighbor and faithful to every trust committed to her. We shall miss her but she has gone to join the company of loved ones gone before and enjoy the life eternal. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church Sunday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. O. Campbell.
Interment was made in the Hamilton cemetery.
