Harry Potter is a series of seven books by author J K Rowling, made into eight films (and of course associated merchandise, such as robes, calendars, figurines, colouring books, puzzles and more).

The story goes as follows: Eleven-year-old Harry Potter receives a letter informing him that he has been accepted to Hogwarts, a school for witchcraft and wizardry. The books and films detail his adventures (along with friends Hermione and Ron) as he battles with the evil Lord Voldemort. Storylines and characters evolve and develop, new characters are introduced and depart, techniques of magic appear, and the popular game of Quidditch is introduced.
Originally written as books for children, the Harry Potter series has become a favourite with fans of all ages. A website has been created - wizardingworld.com - and fans have even formed Quidditch teams in real life.
