- Same day — Hastings, 541 tons, Captain McQueen, from London, with general cargo. [6] Passengers — Rev. F. Taylor, Rev. T. C. Lawrence, wife and 3 children, Mrs Roe, Miss Roe and 8 children, and Mr Grabham, Surgeon Superintendent, cabin; steerage — 12 single men, 6 married do, 46 single women, 6 married do, 9 children, and infants (2) ; total, 81 in steerage.
- The Hastings arrived at Roebuck Bay on 13th February, (1865) [7] after a run of nine days from Champion Bay, and anchored in Gage's Roads on Monday. (Round trip - Roebuck to Champion Bay)
- The Hastings, with sandalwood, sailed last Monday for Singapore; (1865, May) [8] she had only 3 horses on board, one of which (Garrogin), was the winner of the Maiden Plate. The races will come off at Singapore in November next; so that if the horse arrives there safely, we may hear of his having distinguished himself as a racer, which no doubt will be pleasing to his late owner, Mr J. B. Locke, as well as to the gentleman who selected him for shipment. Fremantle, 29th May, 1865.
