Buried at the Hawbottom Cemetery in Middletown, MD are Janet Somerville Johnson, son Thomas and their descendants. A story about Janet has been told that she is the daughter of a Duke (Scottish?) who needed royal permission to marry, didn't get it, married Henry Johnson who died abord the ship he owned on the way to America. Only one potential royal Sommerville with the birth date given for Janet actually has the name Euphemia. A similar story is told about the father of Thomas Johnson first Gov. of MD. I suspect that years ago somebody combined/confused the stories. In any case, information on the origin of Janet Johnson is sought.
