Henion Name Study

Henion Name Study

About the Project

The Henion Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Henion name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Henion name.

As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Henions), by time period (18th Century Henions), or by topic (Henion DNA, Henion Occupations, Henion Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

Henion-1566
Nancy Henion
My father was a Henion - he was born in 1916 in Guilderland Center, NY. His parents were Albert J Henion (1894-1973) and Pearl B Albright (1895-1969). Albert's parents were John H (1865-1933 - born in NYC) and Elisabeth S Vernon (1875-1968). John's parents were William (born 1842) and Tina M Sickles (born 1841). William's father is John D (born 1793) and his mother was Elizabeth Barker (born 1805). I'm not sure where any of this fits with your research but I would absolutely LOVE to know more! I've always felt that that branch of my family tree went back to the original Dutch settlers in the New York area but haven't had any luck finding more information. Good luck with your search!

I am actively researching the Henion line on my fathers side in New York.
