Land Transactions Related to Henry White at Caroline River
A search of the Library of Virginia Land Patents yields the following grants in a "County Location Not Given":
1663, Sep 25: White, Henry, Sr. grantee. County location not given. 250 acres on the north side of Carolina River: bounded on the west with John Harvies line of marked trees, on the east with Thomas Stamp and James Noakes. [1]
1663, Sep 25: White, Henry, Jr. grantee. County location not given. 700 acres in a small creek called Corawtucks that falls into Kecoughtanke River: beg.g towards the head of the said creek.[2]
According to Bodie[3] these grants were dated 25th of September, 1663, and represent twenty-nine land grants issued by Governor Berkeley to North Carolina's first permanent settlers. They included Henry White Sr., Henry White Jr., John Harvey, and Thomas Stampe.
