History:
In the years 1806/19 these immigrants in the district of Odessa established the settlement of Karlstal on the estate of the Prussian cavalry officier Karl Vitsch; the 25 families were from Wiirttemberg; in 1841 they founded Hoffnungstal in Bessarabia. In the years 1843—47 additional 57 families arrived from Worms, Gliickstal, Bergdorf, Neudorf, Kassel, Hoffnungstal in the district of Odessa. A settlement, therefore, whose inhabitants all came from the Odessa area. Source-Emigration from Germany - Karl Stumpp
