History

Homestead Plantation, located in Richland Co, SC, was owned by Joel Adams Sr. who had been living there since his marriage in 1773. Homestead Plantation is said to hold 565 acres. Joel Adams lived there with his family until he died. The plantation was divided about 1811 to make a home for son Dr. William Adams, his newly created property being called Green Tree.^[1] When Joel Adams Sr. died in 1830 his son Joel Adams Jr., took over Homestead Plantation.
