About the Project

The Huguenin Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Huguenin name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Huguenin name.

As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual team studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Huguenins), by time period (18th Century Huguenins), or by topic (Huguenin DNA, Huguenin Occupations, Huguenin Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

How to Participate

Please contact the Study's coordinator Robert Ward or post a comment at the foot of the page. If you have any questions, just ask. Thanks!

Huguenin Nicolas deceased on 1714/05/21 in Vernonvilliers (Aube, France) is one of my ancestor (10ème generation)
posted by Christian Mongin
Hi Christian,

It's always great to see someone new interested in the Huguenin family. Looking at your tree, I am assuming Nicolas is the father of Marguerite (Huguenin) Perrot (Huguenin-196)?

I will also go ahead and add the sticker for the name study to Marguerite's profile.

Please feel free to add any new information on the Huguenin family if you would like to add it.

Thank you! And I hope to hear from you again soon.

I have been collecting information on the Hugunin family for 70 years. This means most of this is on paper. i have scanned the paper into pdf but it is still not machine searchable. My branch of the family connects Robert Ward since I also descend from Peter Hugunin and Rachel Holland. I also have a couple of family histories compiled by the southern branch of the family. My problem is that these files do not lend themselves to the format of wikitree. They lack the detail needed and proof of original sources. They would be a good starting point for someone with more time and energy than I have now. I need advice and help to make these available..

PS my uncles and my son bought antique Huguenin pocket watches on e-bay. Yes some of the family were Swiss watch makers.
