The goal of this project is to ...Discover European Roots and American Colonial junctures in the Hutcherson genealogical tree.
Right now this project just has one member, me. I am Linda Simmons.
Here are some of the tasks that I think need to be done. I'll be working on them, and could use your help.
- Verify changes in the spelling of ‘Hutcherson’ in America
- Determine earliest ‘Hutcherson’ migration to America from Europe
- Research Scots-Irish Roots of the ‘Hutcherson’ clan
- Develop connections and migration paths of the ‘Hutcherson’ family of Virginia, from The American Revolution thru the American Civil War and after.

I am only an amateur genealogist, with sparse sourced work in WikiTree. However I will soon have much more time to do research, and hope to find others interested in my Hutcherson paternal line.
His will was presented in the Chancery Court, Madison County Virginia, in 1821.
From various other records, and research shared by others, I’m confident he is a brother of Thomas Hutcherson (ab1785- ab1832). I believe they are both children of William Hutcherson/Hutchinson and Sarah Redd.
