Introduction

Prior to the Local Government (Ireland) Act 1898 the greater part of Inishcaltra was in County Galway. Tulla Upper as a Galway Barony only existed until the 1898 boundary changes. After that Tulla Upper was fully in County Clare. Inishcaltra Parish in Galway does not exist after the 1898 boundary changes.
