Whereas Isaac Garrigues of the city of Philadelphia Cooper and Sarah Powell daughter of Wm Powell late of the said City Cooper decea. having declared their Intentions of Marriage with each other before several Monthly Meetings of the People called Quakers at Philadelphia aforesaid according to the good Order used amongst them, and no Relation or Party concerned disapproving thereof, their said Proposal of Marriage was allowed of by the said meeting. Now these are to certify whome it may concern, that for the full accomplishing their said intentions this Fourth Day of the Twelfth month called February in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Forty-one (two); they the said Isaac Garrigues and Sarah Powell appear'd in a Publick Meeting of the People at Philadelphia aforesaid and the said Isaac Garrigues taking the said Sarah Powell by the hand did in solemn manner openly declare that He took Her the said Sarah Powell to be his Wife promising through the Lord's assistance to be unto her a Loving and faithfull Husband until Death should separate them. And then and there in the same Assembly the said Sarah Powell did in like manner declare that she took the said Isaac Garrigues to be her Husband promising through the Lord's assistance to be unto him a faithful and loving

Wife until Death should separate them. And moreover they the said Isaac Garrigues and Sarah Powell (she according to the custom of marriage assuming the name of her husband) As a further confirmation thereof did then and there to these presents set their Hands, and we whose names are here under allso subscribed being present at the solemnization of the said Marriage and Subscription, have as witnesses thereunto set our Hands the Day and Year above written.
