Introduction

Isaac Sibley's plantation was situated on approximately 168 acres of land on Cypress creek. A deed for the purchase of this land has not been found. The 1818-1825 tax records showed that John Sibley was the first owner (and received a land patent) of the 150 acres of land on Cypress creek that Isaac was living on.[1] John Sibley was given a patent for 200 acres of land on Cypress creek in Henderson County, Kentucky in 1800.[2] The plantation was bounded by the lands of Jones, Morrison and Williams.
