Hi Everyone! Thanks for coming to visit my project. This is my first foray deep into WikiTree, and I think I am finally ready to start a project to honor my ancestors!

The goal of this project is to honor and celebrate the unique life of our ancestors who lived on the Bailiwick of Jersey. While this project will focus on Jersey, many of our ancestors navigated back and forth beyond the island's shores. This project will also happily help out with other channel islands, native of Jersey in France, England, Canada, and as far beyond Jersey's borders as her people traveled.
Right now this project just has one member, me. I am Charles Heermans. My great grandmother's father was Jèrriais and I quickly fell in love with the island and it's history, as well as finding my links to the local nobility.
Here are some of the tasks that I think need to be done. I'll be working on them, and could use your help.
- Uploading of Jèrriais people to WikiTree, these trees are already research and intertwined but missing from WikiTree en-masse
- Obtaining pre-1500 certification for myself and members, this will be helpful as many families from the island can be traced back over 1,000 years to their Norman ancestors.
- Creating a standardized way of maintaining profiles of Jèrriais people, as well as the local nobles and heraldry. Jersey has its own unique heraldic tradition that can be preserved here on wikitree along side the people who bore their respective arms.
