I first find Robert McKnight my 3rd g grandpa in Chemung, New York in the year 1850 enumerated ( Sept 18 1850 ) with his family.
His birth ( age listed as 28 ) (1822 )
His wife ( fact known and documented ) is Martha A Decker listed age 24 ( 1826 )
Catharine Allington (later enumerated as Catharine McKnight ) age 6 ( 1844 )
William H age 1 0f 12 months ( Aug 1850 ) and a
Harriett Culver age 18 - all listed as born in N.Y. except Robert his birth place is listed as Unknown.
1860 census taken Aug 21 lists the other kids

Robert is listed as a widower Living with his son Ben F McKnight Sr and his wife Pernisa ( Benjamin ) in Lycoming Pennsylvania his age is listed as 50 ( 1830 ) also listed is another Daughter Alice (born in Penn )age 11 ( later married Edward Beadle )
1892 census Feb in Veteran, Chemung, N.Y. Robert is with his daughter and son-in-law Edward Beadle and Edward's mother Hybertine Beadle. Robert lists his age as 67 (1825 ).
1900 census Robert is enumerated with his Daughter again ( Alice ) and her husband Edward Beadle and his birth is listed as Mar 1825 ( 75 ) and finally his father's birth place listed as IRELAND and his mother's as NEW YORK.
