Surnames/tags: Corlies Garrigues Whereas Jacob Corlies of the City of New York in the State of New York, son of George Corlies of Shrewsbury Monmouth County in the state of New Jersey & Patience his Wife, and Hannah Garrigues, daughter of Edward Garrigues of Philadelphia County in the State of Pennsylvania and Margaret his wife, having declared their intentions of marriage with each other before several monthly meetings of the People called Quakers, at Darby in the Couty of Delaware & State of Pennsylvania aforesaid according to the good order used among them; and having consent of Parents, their said proposal of marriage was allowed of by the said Meeting. Now these are to certify whom it may concern, that, for the full accomplishing of their said Intentions, this Fifth day of the Ninth month, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five, they the said Jacob Corlies and Hannah Garrigues appeared in a public meeting of the said People at Darby aforesaid, & the said Jacob Corlies taking the said Hannah Garrigues by the hand, did on this solemn occasion openly declare, that he took her the said Hannah Garrigues to be his Wife promising, with the Lord's assistance to be unto her a faithful & affectionate Husband until Death should separate them, and then in the same Assembly, the said Hannah Garrigues did in like manner declare, that she took him the said Jacob Corlies to be her Husband, promising with the Lord's assistance, to be unto him a faithfull & affectionate Wife until Death should seperate them: And moreover they the said Jacob Corlies and Hannah Garrigues, she, according to the custom of Marriage, assuming the name of her Husband, as a further confirmation thereof, did then and there to these presents set their Hands.
