Now these are to certify whom it may concern that for the full accomplishing their said Intentions, this twelfth day of the Tenth month in the year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred & Eighty six. They the said James Bowne and Mary Garrigues appeared in a public Meeting of the said People at Philad'a aforesaid, and the said James Bowne taking the said Mary Garriguesby the hand did in a solemn manner openly declare that he took her the said Mary Garrigues to be his Wife promising through the Lord's assistance, to be unto her a loving & faithful Husband until Death should seperate them; and then in the same Assembly the said Mary Garrigues did in like manner declare that she took him the said James Bowne to be her Husband promising through the Lord's assistance to be unto him a loving and faithful Wife untill Death should seperate them And moreover they the said James Bowne and Mary Garrigues (she according to the Custom of Marriage Assuming the name of her Husband) as a further confirmation thereof did then and there, to these presents set their Hands
