James D. Hopkins, 85, of Falconer, passed away Tuesday (July 12, 2016) in WCA Hospital.

We celebrate Jim Hopkins home to the arms of his loving Savior Jesus Christ.

Jim was born the son of the late John Hopkins and Wilma Sterns Hopkins in 1931, in Kennedy, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Navy for five years to return home to marry the love of his life Jacklyn Wensley.

Jim worked in several positions for AVM over the years, and retired in 1996. He later worked for Ed Shults as a driver and the Lutheran Home as a courier. He loved his family, gardening and politics. His great joy was his wife, Jackie and his family. He especially loved spending time with his great- grandchildren. He recently celebrated his 85th birthday with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Jacklyn M. Wensley Hopkins, they had three children: Jamie (Keith) Richir, Janet (Ray) Powell and Steven (Jill) Hopkins; five grandchildren: Marcella Richir (Michael) Centi, Chelsy Bird (Joshua) Miller, Joshua (Jessica) Bird, Tyler (Kelly) Hopkins, and Bobbi Hopkins; five great- grandchildren: Bryce Miller, Ethyn Miller, Zoie Centi, Karmyn Hopkins and Sawyer Hopkins; a sister, Carol Waine of McCormick, S.C.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ellis Davison of Falconer; his sister, Bernice Stone of Falconer N.Y.; and a great-grandson, Peyton Hopkins.
