The James Hogg monument is located at, Scottish Borders, Great Britain. The monument looks over the lochs and Tibbles Inn. Tibbie Shiel's Inn was owned by Tibbie (Isabella) Shiel. She was born in Ettrick and worked for some time for James Hogg's parents. James Hogg frequented the Inn with his friend Sir Walter Scott and knew Tibble Shiel well.[1] As a close friend of James Hogg she said of him "he wrote a deal of trash but was a sensible man." [2]
