Copy of Will
If I die I now being in sound mind and memory I make this my last will and testament.
1st after paying my just and lawful debts I give and bequeath to my father and mother all my personal property together with my negroes with this exception I give my sister Agnes my negro girl called Harriett
I also give full possession and free use of my real estate to my father and mother to be held by them during their natural life, at their death I give and bequeath to the sister of my deceased wife one thousand dollars, and the balance I bequeath to my brothers and sisters to be equally divided among them. Shawneetown Illinois May 28th 1854
Signed & sealed in presence of and at his request
My watch & Pianna [sic] & wifes clothing to Mrs. Martha Hillaman

We Davis N. Hamilton & William P. James the subscribed witnesses to the foregoing will do solemnly swear that the testator John H. Durbin signed the foregoing will in our presence and in the presence of each other and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed, and that we believe the testator to be of sound mind and memory at the time of signing and acknowledging the same signed & sworn to in open court this 19th day of June 1854. I J.E. Hall Clerk of the County Court of said County do certify that Davis N Hamilton and William P James personally appeared in open Court and made oath that they were present at the executing of the foregoing will that they saw John H. Durbin the testator sign the same and that he acknowledged the same to be his free act and deed in their presence and in the presence of each other and that they believe the testator to be of sound mind and memory at the time of signing and acknowledging the same Given under my hand and the seal of said Court at Shawneetown this 19th day of June 1854 J. E. Hall Clk
