Purpose

This is a list of records for several John Knights of Surry/Sussex County, Virginia, in the 1700s, along with records of:

  • John Knights in other areas, presumed or known to be the same persons
  • Allied families in the same places

This list of records is intended to facilitate deconflation of these individuals and identification of their lineage. The list is arbitrarily cut off at births in 1775 as that then likely gets us through land records about 1800.

  •  ? father had son by this name; not proven this is the correct son
  •  ?? unknown if father had son by this name
  • + probably the son
  • ++ certainly the son

Note: Despite the indication that a person is probably or certainly the son, that does not preclude that person's profile containing conflated records.
