Bumpus?
Bumpus Research ..... Where did it arise.
[author name not given], Genealogy of the Bump, Bumpus, Bumpas family : the descendants of Edward Bompasse, who arrived at Plymouth, No. 19, 1621, in the "Fortune", the first ship follow the Mayflower FamilySearch; DGS 9050039 (Gen. 1-2; index), 8701699 (Gen. 7-9), 8701698 (Gen 8-11). See the thread, Wayne Morgan, "Mary Bumpas & Thomas Rayment," Bumpus Surname forum, 17 March 2007; Genealogy.com. In particular see the Marlow Bumpus post of 23 March 2007, Genealogy.com" Edouad Bompasse or Edward Bumpas, as he was known then, married Hannah, her madin name has not been determined as yet. According to my records, they had a daughter Mary who was born about 1652. I don't know who she married ... Interestingly, my records also show that Edward had Hannah's grandson Edward Bumpas, son of John, married Martha Rayment or Raymond at Middleboro MA. on February 28, 1717/18 Martha, born 1692, was the daughter of John Raymond or Rayment and Martha Woodin. Does your Rayment family include a John Rayment/Martha Woddin union? It would be nice if I knew if the name was Rayment or raymond. I will make a further effort to determin who the parents of your Mary Bumpas were and who she married."
and reply by Wayne Morgan, 23 March 2007, Genealogy.com; "Frederick Charles Anderson in The Great Migration Begins shows a Mary, born ca 1652 married 1682 Daniel Crocker ... Clarence Torrey in his Marriages Before 1700 gives these same dates for Thomas Rayment and Mary Bumpas ... It seems to me if the Bumpas/Crocker marriage is correct (and Frederick Charles Anderson is likely to be correct), that Mary must have been a daughter of John, Edward or Joseph Bumpas, and her birthdate was likely later than 1652."
Further post of 23 March 2007 refers to "Bumpus Compilation by Lynn Albert Bumpus" Genealogy.com and "a file" by Brian Lane, writing further, "[1] John's daughter Mary was born in 1671 and married Isaac Benson. [2]His brother Joseph married Wybra of Weibra Glass. Their daughter Mary was born August 12, 1684 and died at age 26. She was unmarried."
