The attached image shows a sheet of paper passed down to Barry R. Smith through his ancestral line to Henry Thurber. It provides vital information about the Thurber family and the family of Henry's father-in-law, Rev. John P. Jones. The letter came to Barry from his mother, who obtained it from her mother, Mrs. Alice (Jackson) Duncan. Alice had it stored with an envelope addressed to Henry Thurber at Putnam, Connecticut postmarked in Providence, Rhode Island. While not certain, it seems reasonable that the sheet was mailed in that same envelope since descendants of the Jones family remained in Providence after Henry moved his family to Putnam.
