“I Jones Kendrick of said county and State, being of sound mind and memory do make and publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in writing to be my last will and testament and hereby void all other wills hereafter made by me.”

“Item one, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Nancy M. Williams & my son Greene M Kendrick to be held in common others during this life or widowhood of my said wife and at her death or remarriage to my son Greene M Kendrick except such property as is herein of there ever {?) of to will forever, Big Frank, the following negros to Big Frank, Alfred, Toms, Irvin, Efsey, Morrine, Nellie, Bob, Franklin, Nardine, Corbin, Emily, Louise , Betsey, Peggy, Little Frank, Levina, Anderson, Tom, Matlidaand their increase of said negros, Also the choice of 8 horses or mules, eight cows & calves, our yoke of oxen and my wagon gear, And other gear both machinery and tools that is necessary for the plantation, All my house and its household goods”

“All the here in said property is given to my said wife for rest of her natural life. After her death or marriage such said property as stated will go to my loved son Greene M Kendrick, to his heirs.”

Edward R. Anderson five hundred dollars. “I give out of this Property therein willed (?????) jointly then sum of Five hundred Dollars to Edward R. Anderson, And at the death or marriage of my wife.

“I give and bequeath this Negros Toms Kendrick and Big Frank Kendrickhere mentioned to my John B Kendrick and William W Simpsonto be equally divided between them & other (?) for the property willed to my wife and son Green M at their death or without a child or children, to be equally divided between my children John B Kendrick, Jones Kendrick, Susan Simpson and Tabitha J Simpson who is the wife of William W Simpson and their heirs”

“It is my will also that my Blacksmith Sam, Samuel Kendrick and his wife Nancy Kendrick & Elbert Kendrick , any other said of Nancy, promised to be paid to my son John B Kendrick and their children of my son Tillman F. Kendrick in properties as my sons John B Kendrick and Tillman F. Kendrick share had to pay or (?) (?) for my son Jones Kendrick

“I also will and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Mary Martin (?) Five hundred Dollars to be paid out of this property named in my will.”

“I also will and bequeath to my Grand Children who are the children of my daughter Susan Simpson, the following Negros Bruce Kendrick and Moses Kendrick

” I also will and bequeath to my son John B Kendrick the following Negros Amelia Kendrick and her children Washington Kendrick & Rachael Kendrick and an infant girl child out of which Negroes my son John B Kendrick pay to my son Martin Kendrick the sum of Five hundred Dollars yearly, so long as he lives

After paying Grand Daughter Mary Carter Five hundred Dollars after this (?) (?) (?) be equally divided by among all my children except my son Tillman F. Kendrick our equal share of the farm to go & belong to his children.”

“Lastly I do hereby nominate to (?) and appoint Edmund R. Anderson my son John B Kendrick and William W. Simpson, as executors of my last will and testament and I appoint William W Simpson as Guardian for my son Greene M Kendrick until he arrives at proper age to (?) for himself.”
