According to a late Act of Parliam[en]^t touching mariages
Marriages &c beareing the date 24^th of August 1653 Publication was
made of an Agreem[en]^t of an Intended mariage Betweene Beniamyn
Carter of Greate Chesham the County of Bucks Gent aged 29
yeares or thereabouts and Judith Mayor of the Parish of
Lawrence Jewry London aged 18 years or thereabouts daughter
of Richard Mayor of the same Parish Citizen and vintner of
London upon Three severall Lords daies (that is to saie) the 12^th
the 19^th and the 26^th of February 1653 att the Close of the
Morneing Exercize in every of those daies in the Publiq[ue] place
of the said Parish of Lawrence Jewry comonly called the
Church of the Parish and that there was not made any
Excepc[i]on against the said Parties within that tyme witnes
my hand the vij^th day of March 1653. Francis Dufinson Regester

In Pursuance of the said Act of Parliam[en]^t and of the Certificate
above written and also of the Certificate of the said Parish Register
of Great Chesham in the Couny of Bucks aforesaid upon the
vij^th day of March 1753 withe the Parish of Olaves Old jewry London
came before me Thomas Foote One of the Aldermen and one of
the Justices of Peace w[i]^thin and of the Cittie of London the said
Beniamun Carter and Judith Mayor and after examonation of
witnesses concerneing the said Certificates and of the due p[er]formance
of all the premisses and upon sufficient proofe then & there made before
me of the Consent of the said Parent of t^he said Judith Mayor They the
said Beniamyn Carter and Judith Mayor were then and there married
before me the said Thomas Foote according to the forme of the Act
aforesaid and of the said Richard Mayor Father of the said Judith
Thomas Pownsett of the said Parish of Lawrence Jewry London
Scriven[er] Michaell Heydon of Chesham aforesaid Gent and Willi[a]m
Carter of Coleman street London Taylor the Credible witnesses
then alsoe Present unto the declarac[i]on of w[hi]^ch Said Mariage and
of the Solempnizac[i]on thereof I doe subscribe
