Julie Howard McKelvy, 59, native and lifelong resident of Talbot County, passed away peacefully at her home on November 30th, 2017. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend throughout her life.

Julie was born May 29th, 1958 to Francis D. Howard and Lois Sellers, the eldest of three children. Julie married Matthew McKelvy on New Years Eve, 1990.

She is predeceased by her father Francis D. Howard and her sister Kathy C. Howard. She is survived by her loving husband Matthew McKelvy of Trappe, MD; mother Lois Howard of New Smyrna Beach, FL; brother Steven Howard of Dallas, TX; nephew Dustin Howard of Pikesville, MD; niece Hannah Howard of Easton, MD; brother in law Bill McKelvy of Chester, MD; Peter McKelvy (Sydney) of Palm Beach, FL; Christopher McKelvy (Kate) of Oxford, MD; Michael McKelvy (Theresa) of Baltimore, MD; sister in law Elizabeth Boillon (Stephan) of Tacoma Park, MD; dear friend Mary Panyon of Easton, MD; amongst many more beloved friends and family.

Julie was a 1976 graduate of Saints Peter and Paul High School in Easton, MD. Her passions included gardening, saving wildlife, and caring for rescued cats on their property in Trappe, MD. Julie spent over 20 years as a landscape architect on the Eastern Shore of MD.

She was known for her love of wildlife, and would often be seen saving turtles along Oxford Road and frequenting local areas where she could catch a glimpse of bald eagles. Julie was a life-long learner, an avid reader and scrabble player. Family and friends would fearfully challenge Julie to scrabble matches, often coming up short to her impressive vocabulary. One of her favorite past times was attending live music and festivals, especially the annual Blues Festival at Sandy Point State Park.

Always a compassionate caretaker, Julie was committed to furthering causes she was passionate about, notably Locks of Love.
