Introduction to Karl Keller

Karl Keller was my Great Grandfather and was born in Germany on 29 July 1860 in Baden, Baden, Germany. He became a citizen of the United States on 22 October 1891. He married Minnie Mathews on 4 May 1887 in Watertown, Jefferson County, New York, USA. They lived in New York until 1904 when they migrated to Boise, Idaho. Karl Keller died on 5 July 1912 in Boise, Idaho.

CARL ((KARL)) KELLER DIES FROM INJURIES

Man Injured in Runaway at Barberton Falls to Rally and Passes Away at Hospital.

Carl ((Karl)) Keller, 1118 North Twelfth Street, died yesterday afternoon at 2:20 o'clock at a local hospital as the result of injuries which he received in a runaway near Barberton, June 27, when he was thrown from a wagon and sustained a broken shoulder blade and a fracture of three ribs. Mr. Keller was 52 years of age.

He was born in Germany and was reared in the fatherland, coming to America when he was 22 years of age. He lived in New York for a number of years. He came to Boise, ((Idaho)) eight years ago, and has made his home in this city ever since.

Mr. Keller worked as a mining engineer and millwright. He had interests in the Ironsides mine on Boise River and was returning from that place when he received the injuries which resulted in his death. He was a thirty-second degree Mason and a Shriner.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Ruth, Frieda, and Pauline; ((Karolina)) two sons, Otto and Rex, and one brother, Ernest Keller, all of Boise.

Arrangements for the funeral have not been made.[1] END
