Goals

This is a One Name Study to collect together in one place everything about one surname and the variants of that name. The hope is that other Kiefte researchers like you will join our study to help make it a valuable reference point for people studying lines that cross or intersect.

Results

• I found mentions of Harm Hendriks Kiefte (abt.1764-1840) using the name De Kiefte which suggested to me it might be the name of a possession
• Around Zwollerkerspel I found a farm called De Kiefte, with in the village south of it a Kiefteweg. This is around Markelo and Goor. Current working hypothesis is that some or all of De Kiefte might be related too (e.g. through brothers of Harm Hendriks) and the origin of the name might be one or two generations back from Harm Hendriks Kiefte (abt.1764-1840).
