Introduction

This is the free space page for Category: Kildress Old Churchyard, Cookstown, Tyrone.

The churchyard is in the townland of Kildress Upper and was the site of Kildress Parish Church until 1818, when a new church was opened at Clare about two miles to the west. Some families continued to bury their loved ones at the old churchyard even after the new one opened.

The old churchyard has now fallen into sad disrepair. Many gravestones are tumbled and buried under grass.
