- Laura: The whole idea of the Holy Grail came from France. I have an interesting article from one of the glass historians I deal with (my family were glass and crystal makers in Europe going way way back)... anyway, there is a glass cup that is supposed to have healing properties in the Languedoc area of France. It came back with a crusader attached to a glass family. What is really interesting is that this family also owned tin mines and traded with Joseph of Arimethea. So it ties in with the Holy Grail legend. Personally I would think the cup was wooden as Jesus was a carpenter...
