Hi Roy,

Maybe we have come across each other elsewhere. Your name is definitely familiar to me.

Having run a personal Lamberson/Lambertson/Lommason/etc One Name Study informally for over 20 years, there are certain localities (like certain counties in Pennsylvania) where I have inevitably included Lambertons in my research. Having become newly active here on WikiTree, I'm contacting you to let you know I'd like to assist you when I get to the Lambertons I've previously worked on.

I've got a couple of big projects I'm trying to put to bed, but my own one name study work is still a priority here. As such I hope to get to my Lambertons in that process soon.

Please feel free to contact me anytime either on the wiki (I'm Lamberson-312 here) or via email at: lamberson[at]yahoo[dot]com

Regards, Greg Lamberson

I think we chatted back when I first joined your study...

As you probably know, there are 3 groups of Lambertons, in the US. There is a group from Massachusetts, back in the revolution, the 2nd came over as part of the revolution, and they are the group in Pennsylvania, the third is my family's line which came over in several waves, the last one into New York before and after the Civil War.

I filled in a bunch of the Pennsylvania folks because of Admiral Lamberton (I'm a retired Navy Reserve Senior Chief) and work on chasing Lambertons with a Kelly Lamberton, now of Michigan. We have all done yDNA on FamilyTreeDNA and turn up a lot of distant cousins but nobody from Scotland with a direct link to our collective families. Kelly is related to the Pennsylvania line, BTW. He's closer to the Admiral than I am.

I hit a wall in Scotland about the time they forced everyone into the official reporting (1955), I probably should go to Edinburg and visit the Scotland's people archives, but I have a lot more work to do online to try to figure out my twisted Ayrshire heritage.
