This is a transcription of the Indenture for the land transaction dated 1 September 1888 between Nelson B. Clark, Nannie S Clark, George Stamp, Peter Kiefer, and Elizabeth Kiefer.[1]
Deed Transcription
This Indenture, made this first day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty eight between Nelson B Clark and Nannie S his wife of the town of West Seneca county of Erie and state of New York and George Stamp (widower) of the first part and Peter Kiefer and Elizabeth Keifer his wife and to the survivor of them of the city of Buffalo Erie county New York of the second part
Witnesseth, That the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand five hundred pounds lawful money of the United States of America, to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby confessed and acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold. remised, released, aliened, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, remise, release, alien, convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part, and to their heirs and assigns forever, All the certain piece or parcel of Land,
Situate in the town of West Seneca known and distinguished as the north east part of lot number four hundred and thirty one of the Buffalo Creek Reservations in the tenth township and seventh range beginning at north east corner of land deeded to Alexander Kennedy thence running west 2½º degrees north sixteen chains and fifty links thence south 2½ degrees west three chains and fifty six links then east 2½ degrees north seventeen chains and twenty two links to the center of the California and Cattarangus Hank Roads also known as the Abbott Road and then north 12 degrees west along the center of the said Road to the place of beginning three chains and sixty four links containing six acres of lands be the same more or less. Being the same premises conveyed to George Stamp by Alexander Kenedy by deed dated May 21st 1856 and recorded in Erie County Clerks Office in Liber 207 of Deeds at Page 47 &c. George Stamp joins in this deed for the purpose of correcting an error made in a deed made by the said George Stamp to Nelson B. Clark bearing date the 20th day of March 1888 and recorded in the Erie County Clerks Office in Liber 536 of Deeds at Page 213 &c in which the south line runs 3 chains and and 53 links instead of 3 chains and 56 links.
Together with all and singular the tenements, hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in anywise appertaining, and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof, and all the estate, right, title, interest, dower and right of dower, claim and demand whatsoever, of the said party of the first part, either in Law or Equity, of, in, and to the above-bargained premises, with the said hereditaments and appurtenances, To Have and to Hold the said premises as above described, with the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part, and to their heirs and assigns, forever.
And the said Nelson B. Clark for himself his heirs, executors and administrators, does covenant, grant, bargain and agree to and with the said party of the second part, their heirs and assigns, that the above-bargained premises, in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part, their heirs or assigns, against all and every person or persons lawfully claiming, or to claim, the whole or any part thereof, he will forever Warrant and Defend.

STATE OF NEW YORK, Erie COUNTY
On this first day of September 1888, before me, the subscriber, appeared Nelson B. Clark and Nannie S. Clark his wife and George Stamp widower and severally acknowledged that they had executed the within instrument, and I further certify that I know the persons who made the said acknowledgement to be the individuals described in and who executed the within instrument; that at the time of the execution of this acknowledgement he was Henry Keoons Notary Public.
