This is a page to bring together Wikitreers with language skills (who are able and willing to volunteer some time and energy from time to time), with those Wikitreers who need assistance in interpreting a resource in a language other than their own.
If you are SEEKING information or assistance please keep in mind that the people listed here are not receiving notifications of messages added here. You will have to contact them through their profile page for translation requests. They may not always be available for help when you need it and they are under no obligations to provide it at all. Approach volunteers with no expectations and you will not be disappointed. Wikitree is a collaborative resource that works well because so many people give freely of their time. Please try to give back to our community if you can.
If you would like to volunteer, please click edit and take a look below to see where and how the other volunteers are added, to add yourself in the same way:
- Copy and paste a section from one '|-' up to the next one
- Replace the copied info with your own name link (WikiTree ID) info and what you are able to help or assist members with.
- Check the results by clicking the preview button. If it looks good, save it. If you can't get it to look good just leave the page without saving. You can just ask and someone else will help to get you added to the list.
For glossaries (definitions of common foreign language terms) see Wikitree language resources. Help us improve this list with definitions for languages not already included or by expanding exisiting definitions.
For other related information and help see the Genealogy Help section.
You can also add a category to your own profile. See WikiTreers by Language.

I have awarded the Language Volunteers badge to you and added you to the list of volunteers at: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Language_volunteers I copied part of the text from your message to your entry on the Language Volunteers page. Feel free to edit it if it does not suit. Thanks for volunteering and helping to make WikiTree a friendly place for all. Regards Paul
I have an other question. I saw the German Glossary and I wrote for my own usage a glossary, which contains about 1000 terms at the moment and it is growing every day with new terms. It is possible to add the list to the glossary page, even if I have to do that manually word by word. I think it will be a great help for english speaking people who are searching in old German documents. Thanks for your help in advance Dieter
Something like "For a much more extensive glossary see....." perhaps?
Thanks for help.
I have finished my Free Space Page: https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Space:German-English_Glossary&public=1 The ID is: Space:German-English_Glossary If you are so kind to link the german-english glossary to the page it would be great. Thank you very much.

Thank you for your offer of assistance in those languages! Are you interested in joining WikiTree as a full member? If so, you will need to volunteer, you can do this from your Navigation page, just add tags showing your genealogical interests e.g. surnames you are researching, and in the comments box by them add the location/relationship to you, then click on the green box that says "Save tags and volunteer" and we will then be able to confirm you as a member.
Volunteering means you will help us achieve our goal of joining all individual family trees into one global family tree.
Take care

Thanks Guys
Janet - Greeter
Hope I can help.
A.
I noticed you already are added, but for everyone who follows, you can just add your WikiTree ID to this page, see the instructions that are added now above the list.
And...the language volunteers are not all added to this page as managers or the trusted list, so they don't receive notifications of the messages posted here, if someone needs help they can just contact a volunteer by clicking on the name link and ask for the help in a post at their profile or by sending them a private message.
Hope it helps and thanks for mentioning it, I hope the instructions added to the page make it a bit more clear,
Greets from the Netherlands,
Bea :)
