About the Project
The Ledbetter Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Ledbetter name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Ledbetter name.
As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Ledbetter's), by time period (18th Century Ledbetter's), or by topic (Ledbetter DNA, Lebetter Occupations, Ledbetter Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

- Ledbetter Y-DNA Study Goals. This link provides an overview of the Ledbetter Y-DNA study on Family Tree.
- Family group listings for Y-DNA under Family Tree Ledbetter Family Groups. Visit this link to get a list of other Y-DNA test takers grouped according to their family number.
- Ledbetter Big Y tester's direct paternal lineages on a time scale. This is an interesting graph showing Ledbetter ancestors mapped on a timescale. When the page displays, check the Y-DNA family group numbers you want plotted.
Confirmed DNA
When a common ancestor is matched by three or more DNA descendants with supporting research then it has been confirmed by triangulation. Research must support that the match is not through other common ancestors. 30 cM or better is desired for each of the matches. 40 cM or better is recommended. Profiles with confirmed matches that meet this criteria can place the following category at the top of the profile.
- {{One Name Study| name = Ledbetter| category = DNA Confirmations, Ledbetter Name Study}}
