Leneous Liston Maxey, Sr. of Trappe, MD died on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at Memorial Hospital at Easton. He was 89.
Born October 1, 1912 in Arvonia, VA, he was the son of the late Leneous Lafayette and Nannie Coghill Maxey. After attending John Marshall High School in Richmond, VA, he, in 1932, became a member of the Richmond Light Infantry Blues. During World War II he served in the United States Army where he participated in the Battle of The Bulge. He was a resident of Trappe, MD since 1955 and worked as a supervisor in frozen food production until his retirement in 1982.
He was a member of Choptank Memorial Post #7460 V.F.W. in Cambridge, MD.
Mr. Maxey is survived by his wife, the former Doris G. Ragan, whom he married on June 18, 1955 in Trappe, MD; five children, J. Lynn Loscombe of Easton, MD, Leneous L. Maxey, Jr. of Baltimore, MD, Deborah L. Maxey and Jane M. Geist, both of Trappe, MD and Olwyn L. Maxey of Cambridge, MD; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Ovelton L. Maxey and Ellwyn E. Maxey and one grandson, Kent Adams, are deceased.
