I know Michael Heinl came to America on the ship The Peter and arrived in New York on Oct. 6, 1852. I know he married twice. Once in New Jersey to Agnes Felber (or is that Lolber?) and once to Anna Pfeifer. Both of them seem to be untraceable and have fallen off the edge of the earth. I want to know how accurate their names are and trace them back to their origins. I know that Michael came from Neubau, Bavaria, Germany. But who were his parents, were they Jacob Heinl and Aopolonia Ekert? If so why can I not find much on them? I know Jacob Heinl was on the ships manifest of the Peter when Michael came to America. It stated he came with three children; Michael, Joseph, and Andrew. He also came with a granddaughter, Therese. Which one of the sons did she belong to? I can’t find any information on Joseph and the one I thought was Andrew that I have listed in the family tree seems to be the wrong person? This line of the family tree has troubled me for years. I have even researched descendants and cousins within my own family. I have contacted them. Have not received any answers. If I remember there was a family squabble when Julia passed away and the family hasn’t been the same since. This is a story I think I remember. If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Also I think there was a story that the Heinl name was Heinz in Germany? But if that’s true why the big name change? It certainly would explain some of the problems I am having researching. But at the moment I have no one to ask nor a way to find proof. Thank you in advance.
