Joseph Lincoln, as per 1870 Census, born in NY approx 1824-1825. No prior information has been found. Family lore says 2 things... there was an adoption or given to the Lincoln family and the name Rexford has also been talked about where the mother kept her maiden name (Lincoln). Joseph is first found in the 1870 Harrison, Potter, Pennsylvania Census with wife Ann Snyder Lincoln and children Lida (Lydia) and Sarah (which was later found changed to Mable), then son Romer was found in 1880 Census with mother Ann, which also stated she was divorced... Joseph is not in 1880 Census that can be found... DNA matches have been connected to Mable Lincoln’s family lines (married in Hornell, NY) pointing to Romer being Joseph’s son.
