Link Builders Challenge

What is it?

WikiTree has pledged to stay 100% free forever. This means we have to keep costs ultra-low. Link building is a way to spread the word about WikiTree. We do this by adding the WikiTree profile id for an ancestor to Wikidata or adding the ancestors full url to their IMDb page.

Added a link to https://www.lippe-haeuser-wiki.de/index.php?title=Lange_Stra%C3%9Fe_4_(Detmold) but that does not count, I guess.  ;)

I had the false impression that this was to improve WikiTree's Google rank, but the idea is to refer people to WikiTree by spreading the word...

Thanks, Sven!

They are appreciated, we just don't have a way to track different space pages and categories for the link building challenge.

I don't feel that links should be made to Ancestry as it is a paid site. Should our goal not be better to motivate people to come to the WikiTree profile of a person rather than sending them elsewhere?

Hi, M!

This page details how to add links from ancestry to WikiTree, not vice versa.

Thanks!
