Thank you SO much for putting all this together.

Can I suggest we add a seperate chapter for Sami people ? Sami/Sápmi/Laplanders etc, are a seperate etnic group than the rest of the Norwegians, Swedish, Finnish and Russians, and have seperate DNA's and their own languages. In fact we should probably have a seperate country (Lapland or Sápmi) as the Sami did not always belong to just one country, but could travel and settle across borders ( Lappkodicillen ).Their BMD records were mostly recorded in the normal church records, but adding a section with literature especially for the Sami could no doubt help those researching Sami ancestors.

Thank you for the suggestion Joann. A Sàpmi section in this list would definitely be great, but I could not find any Sami genealogical online books. All I found where paperbacks that you need to order. I added the brochure by Riksarkivet as it at least gives a clue where to start researching.
Thank you Juha.

I am not aware of any online books available, specifically on the Sami, so just thought this would at least be a starting point. But I agree the Riksarkivets reference list will perhaps be the only thing we can add atm, if we have to take the wording "online books" very literary. And that's even at a push 😉. Hopefully there will one day be more actual online material about the Sami.

Hello Juha,

A simple thank you is not enough to say for all of your work. I am overwhelmed just looking through it all. What can I contribute? I am working on my husband's Scottish line and I will add any book information I may find. Although, I will be surprised if there is anything that is not on your list. Your work is greatly appreciated by all.
